Today started out wonderful once again with the Meiji coconut yogurt. I’m sure you guys are tired of hearing the posts all start out with the yogurt comment, but I just need to stress that it was life-changing. I would 10/10 recommend you find it and try it out.
Lunch today truly made me understand the utter mediocrity of the college staple of Maruchan Ramen Noodles after experiencing the ramen bowl at Kanshoku Ramen Bar. Throughout my journey of finishing the noodles, I felt so happy. I am not completely sure why, maybe it was the ambience of having the Top 50 pop songs hits playing in the background, or the fact that these noodles were actually perfectly cooked by a ramen expert (not by me in my apartment microwave) in a savory broth that actually had substance to it (instead of the usual watered-down seasoning). 11/10 would recommend. It was on par with the aforementioned coconut yogurt. |
After lunch, we made our way to Haw Par Villa, a park located on a hill in Pasir Panjang that is dedicated to sharing Chinese mythology and folklore. We will talk about this interesting experience in a later blog post, but you can see pictures from our visit here.
Tonight we are off to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Clarke Quay. It will be very exciting, but also a little strange, to ring in the new year more than half a day before our families and friends do in the United States. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates from today!
